For me, it looks something like this! I've always been of the mindset that life is what we make it. Sure, there are times when we are dished the unexpected that seems to serve us nothing we desire, but it's in those times I'm especially careful to pay attention to the details. Wellness grows from a place of working toward acceptance and freedom within the self. It is a process that is ever changing for each individual, as life is never constant. Simply put, wellness is the the state of actively pursuing a healthy lifestyle through nourishment in all areas of your life. A healthy lifestyle includes the foods you choose to eat, the relationships you maintain with others, your career and finances, the amount of joy in your life, the amount of movement or exercise you allow yourself indoors and out. It includes the spiritual part of your being, as well as the nourishment you give your mind, both intellectually and creatively.
A healthy lifestyle includes your home environment and how you live in and use your space, and allows time for reflection.
In this process of actively pursuing a healthy lifestyle, we afford ourselves the opportunity for growth as we become aware of our approach to how we feel, think, respond, and react; eventually finding the ability to let go of what does not serve us and only allowing space for what does. Remember, you only carry as much baggage as you allow yourself to. Sometimes that baggage comes in the form of toxic feelings toward a person, a job, or a situation. Let it go! While that may sound selfish to let go of these things, which sometimes include people, and only invite what does serve you, the truth is: it's not selfish at all. It is serving, and affords you the space to serve nourishment to yourself. We are our best selves when we are nourished. When we feed our mind, body and soul all the good it deserves we are on the path to our best selves. And, when we are our best selves, we do our best for others.
