The Nowness of Knowing YOU

Of the collection of items on the plate of wellness, it is abundantly clear at this point, that I find joy to be the most important. With joy comes its opponent, sorrow and I am certainly not one to live a life filled with joy and lacking in sorrow. It’s simply a matter of allowing sorrow its place and time; and providing the space for joy to be triumphant.

So often humans are preoccupied with what goes on in their own minds, much of which solely lives there and provides entertaining fodder for a life that isn’t being lived. Some refer to it as “the drama”. In a sense it is a drama being acted out in the stages of bored minds. Rule of thumb: stay active, stay busy living life. Live in the moment without wasting time creating a false narrative of what may have been, what may be, and what might come. If we actively live in the moment, we are truly living. We are present and able to receive lessons.

As we traverse our way through the world, we must view all experiences through the lens of life. So often we get caught in the emotions, our intentions, or expected outcomes, with a complete failure of just letting life be. I guess that’s part of living in the now, the absolute now. The notion of the “now” has always carried a tone of coolness throughout my life. I remember the hippy parents listening to great music and schooling us kids on the teachings of Ram Dass. “Be here now” seemed to echo throughout my upbringing and somehow as I got older, the notion began to slip away. Life became fraught with thoughts, ideas, perceptions, nothing tangible, yet far too time consuming and no good for my wellness. I was recently reminded of this and decided to make a shift back to this approach on life. Almost immediately in the decision, came a series of events that align with my philosophy on joy. A magnetism of positivity in that very moment was palpable. It was as though I’d shut the door on any notions that didn’t suit my wellbeing, and simply walked into a space of attracting exactly what does. When we decide to live in what is best for our wellness, and when we make our actions of love, the magnetism of goodness is abundant. It’s almost effortless in fact. And, sometimes closing a door is the most loving act we may make and in the long run suits the greater good.

Wellness Tips of the Nowness of Knowing YOU:

· In each waking moment of life, be present to recognize the signs.

· Know your moral core and keep your allegiance to it!

· See people for who they are and take them or leave them; and if they conflict with your moral core, don’t make the mistake of having them near for too long.

· As always, find what brings you joy- and bless yourself with an essential daily dose of it!
